چکیده

Methods Donor mice were fed a control or fish oil diet before and during oral sensitization with whey. Acute allergic skin response, serum immunoglobulins as well as dendritic cell (DC) and T-cell subsets in mesenteric lymph nodes (MLN), spleen and/or small intestine were assessed. Besides serum transfer experiments, adoptive transfer experiments with splenocytes of whey-sensitized donor mice fed a control or fish oil diet were performed. For this purpose naïve recipient mice received splenocytes either or not ex vivo depleted of CD25+ cells, or MACS isolated CD4+CD25+ regulatory T-cells (Treg). Recipient mice were shamor whey-sensitized and fed control diet.

Dietary fatty acid modulation of mucosally-induced tolerogenic immune responses.

Immunological unresponsiveness or hyporesponsiveness (tolerance) can be induced by feeding protein antigens to naive animals. Using a classical oral ovalbumin gut-induced tolerance protocol in BALB/c mice we investigated the effects of dietary n-6 and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) on high-and low-dose oral tolerance (and in non-tolerised animals, i.e. effects of antigen challenge alone...

Breast milk fatty acids and allergic disease in preschool children: the Prevention and Incidence of Asthma and Mite Allergy birth cohort study.

BACKGROUND Better understanding of the association between early life lipid intakes and the development of allergic diseases is needed. OBJECTIVE We prospectively studied breast milk content of n-6, n-3, and trans fatty acids in relation to allergic symptoms at the ages of 1 and 4 years. METHODS Fatty acid content was determined in breast milk samples of 265 (158 allergic and 107 nonallergi...

Metabolic Effects of Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in Chickens: A Review

Chicken has been used as a suitable model for lipid metabolism studies, because dietary modifications especially dietary fat type can change chicken body composition. Fats act as a condense source of energy and certain fatty acids such as polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are required for both animal and human health. The n-3 PUFAs, especially, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic ...

Dry Matter Intake, Milk Yield and Milk Fatty Acid Composition of Dairy Cows Fed Raw or Microwave Irradiated Safflower Seed as a Substitution to Cottonseed

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effects of using raw or microwave irradiated safflower seed on dry matter intake, milk production and composition, milk fatty acid profile, blood parameters, and nutrient apparent digestibility in early lactation cows. Nine multiparous Holstein cows at early lactation were randomly assigned to one of three treatments based on 3 × 3 balanced latin ...
